After a marathon 18 hours of play on the final day of the European Poker Tour(EPT) Grand Final at the Monte Carlo Casino, a champion was crowned as Antonio Buonanno captured the title and the top prize money of €1.24 million. Jack Salter who started the final table in lead was the man whom Buonanno defeated in several hours of heads up play and many exchanges of chips.

The cross country FT had good representation from several EU countries and started off with some quick domination from overnight leader Jack Salter. He was responsible for the elimination of short stacked Sebastian Bredthauer in 8th place for €128,800. Kenny Hicks who maintained lead after Day 4 in the tourney was the next to go in 7th place for €188,500, followed by Sebastian von Toperczer in sixth place for €258,300. Magnus Karlsson went down in 5th place as Buonanno upped his act and started dominating. Post dinner break and some discussions for a deal, Mayu Roca went down in 4th place for €419,000. Malte Moennig who had a quiet day on the felt went in 3rd place.
