Global Poker Index: Ravi Raghavan Enters top 10 of GPI 300

Poker player Ravi Raghavan who has East Indian roots stormed into the top 10 of GPI 300, a ranking of the top 300 tournament players in the world released by Global Poker Index(GPI). These GPI Rankings take into account a poker players tournament results over a 6 monthly period. 

Each week, the Global Poker Index (GPI) releases a list of the top 300 tournament poker players in the world using a formula that takes a player’s results over six half-year periods. The GPI also ranks the top performers of the year over two six-month periods. 

Daniel Negreanu is leading the GPI 300 and also the GPI 2013 Player of the Year(POY).  Apart from Raghavan entering the top 10 with 2806 points, there was no new entrant in the Top 10. David Peters and Jonathan Duhamel lost out on 2 and 1 spot respectively while the two gainers in the GPI Rankings Top 10 were Bryn Kenney and Mike Watson. Jason Mercier who has been a regular in the top 10 of GPI Rankings fell out this week. There was no change in the GPI POY this week.
