In the past financial year, 2012-13, Goa Casinos have contributed Rs.135 crores in the form of taxes to the governments stables. The official figures suggest that Rs. 135.45 crores is the revenue earned in terms of taxes like entertainment tax, liquor licenses, port charges etc.

Four different types of taxes have been paid by the floating casinos in River Mandovi, Panjim, Goa. Rs. 17.96 crore has been paid in the form of entry taxes since all casinos charge casino and poker lovers an entry fee to board their casinos. Additionally the government charges a license fee of Rs 6.5 crores per off-shore casino and Rs. 2.5 crores for on shore casino. In all, Rs.32.50 crores from off-shore and Rs.25 crores from on shore casinos was earned by the government in 2012-13.

Revenue earned from the 10 off shore and 5 on shore casinos in terms of entertainment tax amounts to another Rs. 53.29 crores. A total of Rs. 2.2 crores was earned as liquor license fee; Rs. 1 Crore was from off shore and Rs. 1.2 crores from on shore casinos. Furthermore, the Goa casino industry also paid Rs. 2 crores as Value Added Tax(VAT) to the government.
