Biography :
A 24 years old Poker professional hailing from Laurel, Maryland, who started playing poker as a hobby with neighborhood friends and developed his interest in it. He had to drop out his studies and leave University of Maryland to pursue his career in Poker. He could not get success in the beginning, but, kept trying and became a successful short-handed cash game specialist. He is a passionate online poker player, after Black Friday in US, he moved to Toronto to continue playing online. He recorded his first winning in Verona, NY in a $200 NLHE Tournament by winning $18,053.
He entered World Series of Poker in 2009 at the main event and could finish 639th in a field of 6,494 for a $ 21, 365 payday. 2012 WSOP was the Christmas bell for him and he earned his first gold bracelet and 474-player $10,000 six-handed Texas Hold’em World Championship. During tournament, Merson was number 3rd in chips with 28,725, 000 and cashed in at least $ 754, 798 till the end of October. According to ESPN, his win set the record for the shortest day of poker in the history of WSOP, when it was extended for the fourth day and he succeeded in winning the 2nd day.
On his winning, he showed the best gesture of great sportsmanship by hugging and congratulating his opponent, Sylvia, waving his fans and then celebrated with the family. He looked highly overwhelmed and calm in his expression.
