March is going to be the month to remember for all poker players as PokerStars is offering two big poker events this month. While the Micro Millions starts from March 13th, The World Championship of Online Poker(WCOOP) challenge series will kick off from March 28th. While the former is a little tournament series giving the micro stakes player a chance to win from Million dollar guarantees, the WCOOP challenge series is a big money tournament guaranteeing over $9 M in 3 days of action.
In addition to offering the big money guarantee, the WCOOP challenge series will also reward the winner of each event with a customized commemorative money clip and a ticket for the 2014 WCOOP Main Event worth $5,200. This is the second WCOOP Challenge Series since the inaugural edition in December last year. Though the buy-ins of this big tournament are pretty high and range from the $109 of the opening $600,000 guaranteed event up to the huge $2,100 Main Event, you can qualify through satellites with lesser money and even FPP’s.
On the other hand, if you are a micro or small stakes player, the Micro Millions schedule is definitely for you. Starting from March 13, it extends over a 10 day period. Touted as the ‘richest low-stakes tournament in poker‘, Micro Millions 7 has over $5M in guaranteed prize money spread across 100 events. Apart from the event prizes, there is also a Player of the Series(POY) prize up for the taking. The big prize for the POY of Micro Millions 7 is six months of Sunday Millions ticket which will ensure the perfect transition from small stakes to big stakes. The buy-ins for this small poker tournament with big guarantees start from $0.11 for Event 1 to $22 of the Event 98-Main Event.
To add to the excitement at PokerStars, the online poker giant also released a tentative schedule of the Spring Championship of Online Poker(SCOOP) earlier this month. While SCOOP is expected to start from May 4th, the Main Event is expected to be conducted on May 18th, 2014.
