Scotty Nguyen and Tom McEvoy are the two latest inductees to the Poker Hall of Fame and will be inducted on November 3rd when the 2013 WSOP November Nine festivities kick off. After fan balloting chose the ten potential inductees to the 2013 Poker Hall of Fame, a blue ribbon panel comprising of the living Hall of Fame members and elite poker journalists selected former World Champions Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen to receive the honor of being the Poker Class of 2013.
Tom McEvoy confirmed the news on his social media networks and also added that ”I hold the record for the most nominations before finally getting elected. I lost the previous four times but the fifth time was the charm.”
While Tom has more than $2 Million in poker earnings, he also holds the record for being the first satellite qualifier to win the WSOP Main Event in 1983. He has 4 WSOP Bracelets to his credit and has been nominated to the Poker Hall of Fame four times previously as well.
Scotty Nguyen is a five time WSOP Bracelet holder with the crown jewel being the Main Event win in 1998. With more than $10 Million in career earnings, Scotty’s poker graph has encompassed across 3 decades and has seen varying poker eras.
Both the inductees of 2013 Poker Hall of Fame have been nominated multiple times to the elite group and defeated Carlos Mortensen, Jennifer Harman, Mike Matusow, Chris Bjorin, Thor Hansen, Humberto Brenes, Huck Seed and David Chiu to grab the honour. Scotty and Tom will be formally inducted on 3rd November when 2013 WSOP action returns to Rio in Las Vegas with the Main Event final table.
