WSOP Update: Kwong Leads Event #1

WSOP 2013 kicks off todayThe World Series of Poker(WSOP) 2013 entered the second day of action, 3 events are underway and Event # 1 entered its final table. The Casino Employees NL Hold’em event has the final 5 playing for the top prize of $ 84,000 and Allan Kwong sits on top with more than 1,000,000 chips. Bobby Rooney was a distant second with 580,000 chips while Chad Holloway with 480,000 chips is at third position.

Playing out the $500 buy in event of the WSOP at the Rio All Suite Hotel, Las Vegas, fourth place in chip stack is occupied by Daniel Ellery with around 470,000 chips while the fifth position holder is the weak Brian Pingle with only 185,000 chips. Kwong with his huge chip lead looks certain to win the tournament.

Event #2 of the 44th Annual WSOP  also reached the final 60 with $5K NL Hold’em Eight Handed started out with a playing field of 481 players and after one days action enters the final day today with 57 in the foray. Jeremy Ausmus is the chip leader here with 345,000 chips while Trevor Pope and Jamie Armstrong both have 300,000 chips. 

Event #3 also started later in the day with 1821 entrants and at the end of the day the field was down to 660. More Events are expected to start today at the WSOP. Keep watching this space for latest news and updates.
