Ashley Mason led the chip counts as Day 1b of The PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour(ANZPT) ended here today. A total of 254 new players entered the main event at Star Casino today taking the total field to 460 players. But by end of the days play the field was trimmed to 175 and the total prize pool stretched to AUD$ 920,000.
Ashley Mason with a gigantic chip stack of 253800 led the pack while Day 1a leader Gary Benson managed to stay in second place with 193,000 chips. Dale Marsland was in third place but way behind in chips count with 172200 chips. Benjamin Benoit was fourth with 140800 chips and John Thomson, Iori Yogo and Robert Lam were some of the notable others who enter Day 2 in top 10 positions.
All players are fighting it out for the top prize of AUD$ 226,300. Action resumes tomorrow as Day 2 starts for ANZPT Main Event.
