Chanracy Khun of Canada has taken the lead and is the chip leader on the final table of the Main Event of the Bwin World Poker Tour(WPT) Barcelona with 2,393,000 chips in his bag. Khun displayed his fearless game and eliminated big names like Manuel Bevand, Pawel Brzeski and Terry Flood. He got a huge chip advantage when he won a gigantic 1.6 million pot against Sergio Fernandez.
One of the favorites and most experienced player on the final table, Benjamin Pollak of France is second with 1,899,000 chips. Pollak was going strong and was looking as if he will be the chip leader on the final table. But because of Khun’s extraordinary display of poker game, he had to settle for the second place.
60 years old Moroccan, Tahiri Hassani Najib’s erratic and unpredictable poker game secured him third place with 1,636,000 chips. Najib is appearing in his first ever WPT event. Placed on number four with 7,22,000 chips is Spain’s Bruno Garcia Cotelo. Everyone is considering him as a survivor as he was not amongst the favorites to make it to the final table. Now whatever result comes on final table, it will be Cotelo’s best achievement.
Another Spaniard, 23 years old Sergio Fernandez started his day as the chip leader and was going very strong until he lost 1.6 million pot to Chanracy Khun. Currently he is at number five with a total of 548,000 chips.
Standing at the bottom of final six is Antonio Alfaia of Portugal with 273,000 chips. Alfaia started his day as one of the chip leaders and showed the door to the dangerous Anaras Alekberovas. But after that it was almost a downfall for him. Alfaia came into the limelight when he secured third place at $10,000 High Roller WSOP Circuit event in South Africa, where he received a prize money of $62,468.
