Kevin Saul won his first World Series of Poker(WSOP) gold ring as he conquered the Main Event in the WSOP Foxwood Circuit here yesterday. The 615 player field had come down to 16 as action lasted for 7 levels of play before Saul became richer by $194,178 and also a seat to the National Championships.
Play had started in Level 26 with 16 players in bay for the big money but eliminations started way too soon. Eric Blair was first to go followed by Mike Massri and Alex Wilson. The final table was soon formed with nine players in the foray for the coveted WSOP gold ring. The final table lasted about two hours and saw some good games between Saul and Lall Bharat and Saul and Bobby Corcione. The two players going heads up included Bharat and Saul but it was the latters aggression that won him the main event.
WSOP Circuit action also started at the Harrah’s Cherokee two days back but the main event will kick off on 12th April.
