German Poker Player Niklas Heinecker conquered a very short stacked final table to capture the title of the GuangDong Ltd. Asia Millions(GDAM) Main Event title. Playing at the PokerStars LIVE at the City of the Dreams, Jeff Rossiter was the casualty who finished runners up for $3,161,290.
The GDAM Main event had reached such a huge prize pool and thus was clearly the most sought after title of the Asian region. Even during times when all poker attention was towards the WSOP held concurrently at Las Vegas, notable poker pros like Jonathan Duhamel, Isaac Haxton, Philipp Gruissem, Gus Hansen and Erik Seidel were amongst those fighting out for the GDAM top prize.
But in the end, Heinecker reigned supreme as Sorel Mizzi who led the final table on Day 2, came third and took $2,077,000 and the inexperienced Zheng Tang finished fourth and pocketed $1,616,129.
Isaac Haxton who had come in second after Nick Wong in the GDAM warm up event finished fifth here. Igor Kurganov came sixth while Anson Tsang was seventh. Most poker pros now head to the Vegas now where the WSOP 2013 is in full swing and 10 bracelets have already been awarded.
