The 2013 World Series of Poker has entered its penultimate journey. The final table is set and the November Nine have been decided. 27 players started Day 7 and the field was trimmed to one third. Double WSOP Bracelet winner JC Tran is the chip leader.
The eight who will be vying for this honour for the first time include Amir Lehavot, Marc McLaughlin, Jay Farber, Ryan Riess, Sylvain Loosli, Michiel Brummelhuis, Mark Newhouse and David Benefield. Carlos Mortensen was the final table bubble boy as he went out in 10th place. If he had made it then he would’ve been the only player to have tasted Main Event success previously.
Notable poker players eliminated during the day included Steve Gee, Benjamin Pollak and Clement Tripodi. It was the battle of the bubble which lastes very long and also was a very sad one for Mortensen who could’ve acheived poker glory by reaching the final nine again after winning the main event in 2001.
Amongst the November Nine, it is Tran who leads in experience and chip stack but there is another Bracelet winner in 2011 Event 7 Winner Lehavot while Riess has also tasted success previously in the WSOP Circuit. OPN wishes all the poker players in the November Nine and also everyone who made the 2013 WSOP a memorable one.
