It took Alan Gold only four hours to clean the final table that he entered as chip leader to win the Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway Main Event and €187,494 after striking a heads-up deal. Scotland’s Gold is best known for his Pot Limit Omaha skills now has entries to all the remaining stops of the UKIPT Season 4. Ironically Gold plays mainly on PokerStars but had qualified for this event through FTP Qualifiers.
Gold was aggressive from the minute the final table of eight of the UKIPT Galway started play and simply steam rolled his way through them. Known to be the risk taker, he took only thirty minutes of the days play to eliminate Jonathan Slater, the first causalty of the day. Damian Pobreski who led Day 1b was also at the receiving end of Gold’s agrresion as he exit in fifth place.
Paul Febers went heads-up with Gold with a stack one third his size. Gold with 12 Million chips continued his strategy and many big pots later, Febers agreed to the deal to award Gold the coveted trophy.
