Day 1b of the first ever Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway event saw a better turnout than Day 1a as Damian Porebski landed up in lead. With a slow response on Day 1a and a turnout of only 231 poker players, Day 1b was expected to be better. After very late registrations were also announced a total of 630 entrants were there leaving the organisers with a overlay of €139,000 to cover from the €1 million guarantee.
Damian Porebski leads Day 1b with 205,200 chips but Day 1a leader Alan Gold still holds final lead with 270,000 chips. Some of the known Full Tilt Professionals who couldn’t make it to Day 2 included Victor Blom, Sin Melin and Dermot Blain. Poker players who did make the cut included Tim Slater, Jake Cody and Dale Phillips.
A total of 300 players are left in the tournament and the day’s action will resume from Level 10. Keep watching this space for more UKIPT Galway action as the players return to determine the winner.
Earlier yesterday, Sergio Aido had won the FTP UKIPT Galway High Roller event and €24,450. He toppled a field of 36 poker players to add the prestigious trophy to his armour. Aido previously has won the main event of the UKIPT London leg in March this year. He defeated Kyle Maguire who got € 17,460 for his second place finish.
