Biography –
Marc-Etienne McLaughlin may not be a name that can be listed in the famous poker pros of the poker circuit but his presence as one of the younger players at the final table of “November Nine” WSOP main event itself speaks for him.
Born & brought up in Canada, Marc pursued his graduation from University de Sherbrook. He is also a tattoo artist and a business entrepreneur who runs a sourcing business with China & lives in Montreal. He also deals in real estate and trades on the stock market. Moreover, he is planning to launch a series of exports from Quebec to Hong Kong.
The French-Canadian guy is just 25 years old & started playing poker about seven years ago with his friends who usually call him as “Captain Irish”. He also likes to play soccer & hockey. His willingness to compete & win along with her girlfriend’s passion (Laurence Grondin who is also a poker player) made him focus on this game.
Besides having a supportive girlfriend, he also has a list of close friends which include names like Jonathan Duhamel, Marc Ladouceur and Jason Duval, who are rooting for the young Canadian to headline the Final table of 2013.
McLaughlin is a diehard fan of poker, especially the World Series of Poker $10K NLHE Main Event. Usually he focuses on online poker but now, when he has made it to the ”November Nine”, he is preparing himself for the upcoming live action by practicing & playing series of live Sit & Go tournaments. This is going to be his seventh career WSOP cash and third top-86 main event that he has cashed-in over the past five years.
If McLaughlin wins the WSOP Bracelet then he will go down in history making it the best score for Canada in a WSOP ever. McLaughlin has nothing to lose since no one expects anything out of him. But with his aggression backed by his young age, he is third in chip lead and can definitely deliver on a good day.
