Defending Champion Matt Salsberg leads the Day 2 of World Poker Tour(WPT) Grand Prix De Paris with a stack of 212,600 chips but is trailed closely by Hicham Hilmi, Vasili Firsau, Connor Drinan, and David Peters. Hicham Hilmi lead Day 1b of the WPT Paris and stands a good chance.
Other poker players still in the field include Day 1a Chip leader Todd Terry, former WPT champion Marvin Rettenmaier, Bryn Kenney, Timothy Adams and Jason Koon. But there were also some notable poker players who fell on Day 2 including Lee Markholt, Steve O’Dwyer, Paul Volpe, Antoine Saout, and Adrian Mateos. Mateos who has just won his first WSOP Bracelet at the WSOPE Paris Main Event hit the rail when he ran into Marvin Rettenmaier.
From a total of 187 entries, only 21 will finish in the money with the winner getting €340,000 plus the WPT Championship seat. There are 65 survivors lead by Matt Salsberg who is looking for back to back WPT Paris Titles. Poker Veterans who have also made it to Day 3 include WPT Champions Club members Barry Greenstein and Dave “Devilfish” Ulliot. Keep watching this space for more updates from the WPT Paris.
