Season 4 of the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour(UKIPT) reached Nottingham this weekend as Ben Mayhem triumphed over a field of 458 entrants to win the Nottingham 6-Max Main Event. The tournament witnessed three starting flights and Mayhew won on Monday to get the top prize of £72,840.
The last three players Mayhew, Tony Salmon and David Cliffton Burraway, all from UK struck a deal that assured Clifton-Burraway £66,514, Mayhew £62,840, and Tony Salmon £59,296. Ten percent of the money was left in the pot for the final winner. Clifton-Burraway was the biggest chip stack that time and thus locked up the maximum amount. Ironically, he was next to exit after the deal.
Also on the final table was UKIPT-3 London winner Sergio Aido along with Tim Wong and Ben Winson. Other notable players finishing in the money include Jamie Sykes (11th – £7,150), Adam Forsyth (12th – £6,100), John Eames (22nd – £3,700) and Jason Wheeler (35th – £2,800).
