‘varunganjoo’ wins Adda52 POY-2, Rs.2,30,000

‘varunganjoo‘ won the second edition of the Player of the Year(POY) Tourney of adda52 taking the top prize of Rs. 2,30,000. He prevailed over a record field of 171 entrants and a final table which comprised of adda52 regulars darksider12, rckkk77 and saths. 

POY-2 which started in November and was a multi tier Loyalty plan tourney. It is surely the biggest Online Tourney in India where Winners were given 7 lakh in a single event as a gesture of gratification from Adda52. 

While the first edition of this successful tourney was held on 29th Dec 2012 and a prize pool of Rs. 1,50,000 was awarded. This time the prize was many folds and so was the excitement. With 171 entrants, the tourney went on into the wee hours of the night. The nine handed final table featured Adda52 tourney regs like darksider12, rckkk77 and saths and makz00001. It was a tough competition till the end with second placed darksider12 and third place finisher rckkk777 making it a neck to neck fight.

Here’s how the tourney worked

– Players had to play poker cash games on Adda52 to collect 1,000 loyalty points between 19^th Dec and 26^th Dec 2013 (at 9:00 PM) to be eligible for playing step–1 tourney.

– The top 6 winners of each POY step 1 satellite were given entry to POY satellite step 2.

– For qualifying in the step 2 satellite, players would either have to accumulate 10,000 loyalty points between 23^rd Nov to 28^th Dec. 2013 (at 9:00 PM) or have to finish step-1 tourney at one of the top six places.

– The finale of the step-2 satellite tourney was held on 30^th Dec. 2013 at 6:00 PM wherein the top 6 winners of each POY step -2 satellites will be given an entry to the Mega POY Season – 2 Finals. Players also had the option to enter the Mega POY finale by accumulating 2,00,000 loyalty points.
