Valentines Day came alive on the poker felt at the APT Asian Series in Cebu as a real life couple won titles on the same day. While Kosei Ichinose from Japan conquered the High Rollers event his girlfriend, Hazel Yuen Shan Chui from Hong Kong took down the Ladies of Poker title. These back to back wins by the duo were even more remarkable as it happened on Valentines Day.
The All-In Poker Club at The Waterfront Hotel and Casino saw major poker players emerge for the High Rollers Event of the Asian Poker Tour(APT) Asian Series in Cebu. Ichinose conquered the field of 34 poker pros from the region to win the title and the top prize money of PHP 1,319,800. The PHP 108,000 buy-in event attracted the likes of J.J Liu, Samad Razavi, Bryan huang and Iori Yogo amongst others.
Day 1’s activity had seen action boil down to 7 players with Yogo in front with 209,000 chips followed by Masato Yokosawa(169,000 chips) and Sam Razavi(169,000 chips). 5 players finished in the money for the High Rollers event of this APT Asian Series in Cebu. The Japanese player defeated two time 2013 APT POY Samad Razavi for the title.
In the Ladies of Poker event, Yuen Shan Chui took home PHP 49,200 defeating 22 other female poker players in this exclusively for women poker event. In another side event, Michael Falcon won PHP 352,000 as he conquered the DafaPoker Head Hunter Event overcoming a record field of 179 aspirants.
Saturday will see the first flight of the APT Asian Series Cebu, Main Event kick off. The The PHP 50,000 buy-in event will see Day 1 A start at 1 PM local time and is the showcase event of the poker tournament.
