The 2014 schedule of the World Series of Poker(WSOP) Asia Pacific(APAC) was announced here today with it returning to Australia from October 2-18, 2014 for its only stop of the year. This poker festival will be held at Crown Casino in Melbourne, award 10 WSOP Gold Bracelets and also see the culmination of the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year.
The WSOP APAC will be the second prestigious poker extravaganza to be held at the Crown Melbourne with it already hosting the Aussie Millions yearly. The inaugural WSOP APAC was also held at the same venue from April 4-15, 2013 and was a landmark of sorts which saw Daniel Negreanu winning the Main Event and Phil Ivey win a record 9th WSOP gold Bracelet.
With buy-ins ranging from as low as AU$1,100 up to AU$25,000, the series will start on October 2 with the AU$1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Accumulator. This event plans to generate a large field of entrants, as each player will be allowed to play in any or all starting flights. The catch is that all chips a player advances through a starting flight with will be accumulated into one stack for Day 2. The AU$10,000 Main Event will have two starting days and begin on October 12.
