Mukul Pahuja made it to the third final table of the World Poker Tour(WPT) Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown(SHRPS) and increased his chances of becoming the WPT Player of the Year(POY). What’s better for him is his that if he wins the WPT SHRPS tonight then he will oturightly walk off with the WPT POY Title but if he finishes anywhere else then he will remain the front runner.
With 18,895,000 chips, Pahuja is right in front of the six handed final table of the WPT SHRPS and his closest competitor is James Mackey with 11,680,000. Others including Jacob Bazeley(7,305,000 chips) and Eric Afriath (6,760,000 chips) are 3rd and 4th in chip strength but are far away.
Day 4 saw 18 players returning to the felt in the Hard Rock Poker Casino and some notable poker players who fell during the day include Justin Young (13th place), Jeff Gross (10th place), Matt Glantz (ninth place), Barry Hutter (eighth place), and Blake Purvis (seventh place).
For the final table bubble, it was an unfortunate one for Blake Purvis when he moved all in from the hijack for his final 1.6 M chips. Afriat called with his 9♦9♠ and Purvis did have two over cards in A♠J♠ to get a healthy double up. But the board wasn’t favorable with 6♦5♥2♣10♥7♥ and Purvis hit the rail to give the final six a shot at the title and the top prize of $1,081,184.
The final table seating with chip stacks of the WPT SHRPS is as follows:
