As the Day 2 of the APT Philippines 2014 ended at the Resorts World Manila, two more events were wrapped up with Victorino Torres winning the High Rollers Title and Mike Takayama making the cut in the Mix Game Event. The poker fest had kicked off on wednesday with two side events and a healthy turnout.
For Torres it was a slightly tough outing as he faced suitable competition in Bryan Huang (Singapore), Linh Tran(Vietnam) and Daniel Laidlaw (Australia)for the $5,000 buy-in HR Event. In the end Torres had to overcome Tran to claim the title and the top prize of $31,900.
Mike Takayama of the Philippines took down the title in the Mix Game PLH/PLO event with a buy-in of $300. The Filipino, who went home with $5,190 for the win, beat a field of 69 entrants that comprised of Euryd Rivera(Philippines), Julian Hasse (Germany), Paul Hockin (New Zealand) and Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (Japan) among others.
The line up for friday includes the DafaBet Head Hunter event with a buy-in of $300 and the Ladies of Poker event with a buy-in of $150 and a main event mega satellite worth $300.
