Moorea Beach Club Beachside Casino at Mandalay Beach in Las Vegas welcomed the crème de la crème of the poker world and hosted Tiger’s Poker Night charity event in aid of the Tiger Wood Foundation. This exclusive event was presented by WPT (World Poker Tour) and took place on Friday, May 16th and was won by Kinesh Pathar. We earlier reported in April when the Tiger Woods Foundation announced their plan to host Tiger’s Poker Night in association with World Poker Tour. Woods also participated in the event and ended shy of the Final table.
This 50 person, $10,000 buy-in poker tournament brought in the who’s who in the poker world and they were also joined by celebrities. Poker superstars Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari were joined by the WPT’s Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten. Besides these Poker biggies, Dallas Mavericks owner and star of ABC’s Shark Tank Mark Cuban; The Bachelor host Chris Harrison; Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj on The Big Bang Theorywere also present along with Tiger Woods. Phil Hellmuth was actually the event’s emcee.
The Poker Night brought an array of prizes—a round of golf with Tiger Woods himself, “Pro-Am playing spots in Premier PGA TOUR events” and other specialty prizes are all up for grabs. And the winner of the tournament was South Africa’s KineshPather, an amateur who earlier this in the WPT Johannesburg Alpha8 $100,000 buy-in tournament and finished runner up to Daniel Cates. The final table included both Negreanu and Esfandiari, but Woods fell short, however he managed to make it further than last year.
This charity event was actually the 3rd Tiger’s Poker Night as part of Tiger Jam which started in 1998. Tiger Jam has since raised more than $14 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation. A golf outing and a concert by One Republic are other charity event organized as part of Tiger Jam over the years. Post the poker tournament, the players and guests were treated to a poolside concert courtesy Phillip Phillips. Another successful event for the Tiger Woods Foundation came to an enjoyable end.
