The Event 4 and 5 of the World Series of Poker(WSOP) 2014 also crowned champions here today as Americans continued their gold rush. While it was WSOP Circuit grinder Kyle Cartwright winning his first bracelet in Event #4 $1000 NLHE, Tuan Le overcame John Bonomo in the Event #5 $10K Triple Draw.
In Event 4, Cartwright won $360,000 topping a 2223 player field which has created a more than $2M prize pool. 243 players finished in the money including Mark Radoja and Jeff Gross. Jason Paster was the runners up in the battle to the WSOP Bracelet that lasted 3 days. This event marks the first WSOP Bracelet for Cartwright who holds 5 WSOP Circuit Rings to his name.
In Event 5, Tuan Le bested the 120 player field in $10K Limit 2-7 Triple Draw game to capture his first WSOP Bracelet and make it 5 for the USA this year. The final day began with 12 players lead by Phil Galfond but the chip lead exchanged a lot of times. Ultimately, it was Le who kept on consolidating his stack while the others emptied out. The final table had Galfond as the short stack but other formidable contendors like Nick Schulman and Justin Bonomo but in the end 36 year old Le who has been on the poker scene for more than a decade prevailed to take the top prize of $355,324.
