After 888 Poker, it is the turn of PokerStars, the online poker giant to join the FIFA World Cup Football Fever by launching a poker promotion for the same. In a press release, PokerStars announced the same adding that more than $1.7 million can be won through prize giveaways and a special $27 buy-in $1m guaranteed prize pool ‘Phase Tourney’.
The Structure of the Football Fever Promotion is as follows:
KICK-OFF
Players are invited to get into the spirit of the biggest football event of the year from today by selecting one of 32 customized ‘Football Fever Avatars’ that are available to use until July 13.
The Football Fever Daily Challenges also begin today and enable participants to play poker around their favourite football matches, with more than $500,000 in prizes to be shared by completing a range of simple challenges. With each completed challenge connected to each of the football matches, players get a ticket that can then be used to register for one of three All-in Shootouts that reflect the potential result of one of the big football matches of that day. The All-in Shootout that reflects the correct final result will be played out and $10,000 in cash prizes will be awarded, the top prize being $1,000.
Players who start the Bonus Challenge, and manage to complete 10 Daily Challenges, will also win a ticket into a Bonus Challenge All-in Shootout on June 28 at 15.05 ET for a chance to win a share of $100,000.

SET PHASES TO STUN
In addition a $1m GTD Phase Tourney will take place from June 25 to July 6, featuring a $27 buy-in, a guaranteed $1 million prize pool, and minimum of $100,000 for first place. The tournament will take place over two phases, with Phase 1 tournaments occurring every day from June 11 until July 6 at 05.25, 10.25, 13.25, 16.25 and 19.25 ET. On some days even more Phase 1s will be available – check the PokerStars client for full schedule. Players can choose to play any Phase 1 tournament and, if eliminated, can register for another Phase 1 for a chance to advance to Phase 2. All Phase 1 tournaments will have exactly the same amount of levels and any chips a player is left with at the end of Phase 1 will be carried through to Phase 2.
All surviving Phase 1 players will play the tournament to completion in Phase 2 on July 6. Online satellites into Phase 1 start from just $1 and run throughout the day. Players can click ‘Events’ > ‘Football Fever’ in the client to find the Phase 1 tournaments and satellites.
FOOTBALL FEVER MISSION WEEK
Finally, from July 7-13, there will be a Mission Week with a share of $225,000 to be won. Players get to choose between a Sit & Go Mission, Ring Game Mission or Scheduled Tourney Mission, that when completed provides a ticket to one of three $75k All-in Shootout tournaments (on July 16 at 14.05 ET, 15.05 ET or 16.05 ET) with $7,500 for first place.
POKERSTARS.NET TO SPONSOR 2014 BEIJING MILLIONS
PokerStars.NET will sponsor the 2014 Beijing Millions from July 18-27, and the event will form part of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT). This represents the first event in mainland China to be held as part of the APPT.
