The 2014 WSOP Main Event continued with Day 6 action as the 79 player field came down to 27. The man atop Day 6 was someone who is not new to all this poker glitter having had a final table finish in this years tourney already. Martin Jacobson bagged his over 22 Million chip stack to stay in chip lead. Jacobson who also lead Day 1a of the Main Event will try to fix his berth in the coveted November Nine of 2014. Mark Newhouse, 2013’s November Niner who had started Day 6 in chip lead still stays in contention for a repeat Final Nine performance with a chip average stack of 7.8 M chips.
Other big chip stacks include Luis Velador, Dan Sindelar , Dan Smith and Craig McCorkell. While 30 levels of play were completed, blinds remain at 60,000-120,000 and there are 7 players above 10M chips now. Some of the notable poker players who left the field today with a heavy heart but good pay checks include Chris Johnson(31st place for $230,487),Vitaly Lunkin(57th place for $124,447, Brian Hastings(64th place for $103,325) and Maria Ho(77th place for $85,182). With Ho going down, the last woman standing exit and the field only comprises of males now.
One of the highlights of the day was the antics of Aaron Kaiser who seemed to annoy his table especially Dan Smith with his slow game. Smith apparently called the clock on him a couple of times and also lost a few times to him. It was only justice that Smith eliminated Kaiser in 36th place.
When Day 7 starts, action will soon boil down to only 3 tables and will play down till a final table is formed. This final table will then bag and tag their chips to re-emerge in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in November 2014 as the November Nine of this year. As wit all previous years, the final table of the WSOP Main Event will be played out in November.
