The Final Table of the biggest ever European Poker Tour(EPT) Main Event is set with 8 masters on their toes to get hold of the prestigious title. Poker enthusiasts in India and around the world have all attention to the 100th EPT Main Event which will see 3 Germans take to the felt to mark their supremacy. While Hossein Ensan is in chip lead with 10,295,000 chips, Samuel Philips is also close with 9,035,000 chips.
Day 4 Report-
As the ETP 100th Main event took its course on 4th day of play at Casino Barcelona, 102 players pushed themselves up the leaderboard towards the title. After six rounds of intense play on all tables, just 25 players remained in action at the end of Day 4. It was an extremely tight contest for the number one spot with Bram Haenraets (4,395,000) just inches ahead of Piotr Sowinski (4,355,000). As he is playing his first live tournament at the EPT Barcelona Main Event, Haenraets was definitely smiled upon by the poker gods at one point on Monday. Day 4 saw many big names and former title winners getting eliminated. Kevin Stani felt our early followed by Mikalai Pobal, Martin Finger, and Mike McDonald. EPT London champion Robin Ylitalo was the last to depart.
Day 5 Report-
25 players gathered on the Day 5 with the aim of making it to Wednesday’s final Table game. Eventually, for 17th players it ended in disappointment as, one-by-one they hit the rail. Dominik Panka was the only former EPT champion remaining in the contest but, his good run came to an end on the penultimate day of this main event. The tournament got its Final 8 lead by Hossein Ensan (10,295,000) who won his seat via a live satellite. Samuel Phillips rose to 2nd spot on the leaderboard with 9,035,000 chips on Day 5.
When play resumes at Casino Barcelona tonight, the eight remaining players will battle out their minds in the hunt of €1,261,000 first prize for winning the EPT Barcelona Main Event. Although there are no former champions but, it will be quite exciting to witness someone like Hossein Ensan , Ji Zhang or Andrey Shatilov wins the title for the first time.
