Day 3 of the Red Dragon Event at the Macau Poker Cup(MPC) 21 started off with 221 players and after the completion of a long day at the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams Casino, 46 runners remain. Wai Leong Chan showed a dominating run and will start Day 3 in chip lead with 766,000 chips while the Indian charge will be led by Kunal Chandra who is in 8th position with 411,000 chips.
5 Indian poker players had made it to Day 2 including Rajeev Kanjani, Aditya Sushant, Sailesh Verma and Bharathan Balasubramanium. While the others failed to make the money, Rajeev Kanjani who recently had a final table finish at APPT Manila Main Event exit in 91st place for a payout of HKD 16,000. Kunal Chandra is the lone Indian survivor and all hopes are on him to slay the dragon for India for the first time.
Kenny Leong who was the first ever Red Dragon Winner is also in the field though with a smaller stack than Chan. Other notable Asian players making Day 3 include Edward Kim, Alwin Cheam and Robert Shwartz. Some of the bigger names who failed to make Day 3 but finished ITM include Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin and Raymond Wu, Day 2 chip leader Mikal Blomlie, Raiden Kan and Andrew Scott.
