The Poker scene in India is soon going to get an uplift with the month of September staring at a busy schedule with many Asian poker tournaments on the horizon. It might mean a cramped poker calendar for Indian poker players, with two big and several small tournaments set to commence across Asia. Headlining the action is Asian Poker Tour to be held in Manila from 10th September to the 17th followed by ACOP Platinum Series VI in Macau from 25th to 28th September.
Indian poker pros are quite excited this time to cash in big prize pools. Riding on the recent success of stars like Aditya Aggarwal, Samay Parikh and Muskan Sethi at several international events, Indian tournament regs are expected to start with a bang at the upcoming Asian tournaments.
APT Asian Series Manila at the Resorts World Manila this year will feature a PHP 5,000 Main Event with a guaranteed prize of PHP 500K. The Red Poker Club, located in the Philippines is Cebu’s newest poker room and is giving out an APT Asian Series Manila Main Event Package worth PHP 65,000 to the winner. Sameer Rattonsey and Rajeev Kanjani who recently made it to the final table of the APPT Manila are expected to lead the Indian charge again. Poker players from India will also be keeping an eagle’s eye on APT Player of the Yea(POY)r leaderboards which is compiled as per the performance in APT and APT Asian Series.
Talking about ACOP Platinum Series VI, Indian poker pros are up on their toes as it will feature HKD $5,500 Main Event, which comes with a HKD $500,000 guarantee. One of the most reputed poker tournaments in Asia is set to take place at City of Dreams Casino in Macau. Being the last ACOP Platinum Series in this year, it might be a good opportunity for Indian poker players to get some tournament exposure.
With these Asian poker events taking place in September, the stage will then be set for the WSOP Asia Pacific(APAC) for which online registrations have already begun.
Stay tuned to OPN all across the month for further updates on these tournaments and performance of the poker players from India.
