The prestigious World Poker Tour(WPT) Legends of Poker crowned a champion in Harry Arutyunyan this weekend at the Bicycle Casino. Harry overcame a huge chip disadvantage at the final table to emerge take down the coveted title and top prize money of $576,369.
It was the first outing of the Season XII of WPT and the Bicycle Casino saw a huge turnout for the signature event. It was Mike Eskandari who led the six handed final table and was also the crowd favorite being the local player. Eskandari in the end did it down to the wire in a topsy-turvy heads up battle with eventual winner Harry.
Jeremy Kottler ironically was the first to exit failing to consolidate on his chip advantage. There were two Tyler’s on the FT with Tyler Cornell following Kottler to the rail and Tyler Kenney going down in 3rd place to set up the heads up clash for the WPT Legends of Poker.
Though Eskandari held a 4-1 chip advantage when he started playing with Harry but soon saw many chip exchanges before finally Harry emerged the winner. This was how the final hand played out-

There wan’t much to choose between both the players who were both looking for the tourney life. But the river kept Arutyunyan’s eight kicker in front to give him the title and the $576,369 in prize money. Eskandari won more than $330,000 for his efforts.
