14th January 2015 will mark the beginning of Season 9 of the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) as per an official announcement of APPT. The 11 month long poker tour kicks off with the 2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne. The announcement includes the dates of all 10 prominent poker tournaments to be held in Asia-Pacific region in 2015.
APPT Season 9 will climax with 2015 Asia Championship of Poker at the ‘PokerStars LIVE Macau’ poker room tentatively scheduled from 30th October – 15th November, 2015. Few more outings and newer venues hosting APPT poker tournaments are expected to be added to the season in 2015.

With the announcement of Season 9 calendar came one more crucial news for the poker players in Asia-Pacific. The Global Poker Index (GPI) which ranks the poker players from around the world based on their performance in live games will be launched exclusively for tournaments being played in Asia-Pacific locations in 2015. The GPI formula will be applied throughout the Season 9 of APPT and the top ranking players will be awarded a special trophy for their achievement. This integration will provide the players as well as event organizers a deep insight of player’s performance.
