The top #5 positions of GPI World Poker Ranking are standing still since last week, wherein Dan Smith, despite losing some points, is at number one (GPI #1) position, and Daniel Negreanu is holding his 3rd rank for past two weeks. Retaining his 2nd rank Ole Schemion becomes the second after Dan Smith to hold 4,000 points range. Jason Mercier and Scott Seiver are as well holding their previous rankings of #4 and #5 respectively.
The Thursday of every week is the day when Global Poker Index (GPI) releases a list of top 300 Poker performers of the World. The GPI uses special formula to populate this list of top Poker rankers and as well maintains the ‘Player of the Year’ leaderboard.
Though, the top 5 players of GPI have not moved above or down from their positions since last week, but the rest of the five players, whom we are going to mention here, are changed somehow. The on-again and off-again relationship of Olivier Busquet with top 10 positions of GPI ranking has one more time on-again as he climbs 5 ladders and acquired #6 rank. Olivier was kicked off by Vanessa Selbst from his 10th position in GPI ranking last week. However, now Selbst is at #11 (GPI#11, -1), which means she drops out.
The biggest mover of this week is Rasmus Agerskov Larsen (GPI#196, +56), who has climbed 56 stairs upwards after acquiring 8th position in UKIPT Main Event at EPT London. Apart from him, the other three notable upstream moves of this week are Dominik Panka (GPI#209, +40), Kitty Kuo (GPI#220, +37), and former #7 World ranker Igor Kurganov (GPI#149, +36). We will miss something if we do not mention the names of these two players – Fabian Quoss (GPI#292) and Andrey Pateychuk (GPI#299), who got back their rankings in top 300 of GPI.
On the other hand, the players who moved down the ladder of GPI ranking this week are Jacob Bazeley (GPI#279, -81), Giacomo Fundaro (GPI#251, -69), Sergio Aido (GPI#290, -67), and Tom Hall (GPI#225, -36). From this list, Bazeley – the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown final table participant, has seen the biggest hit.
