GPI Rankings- 2014 WSOP Martin Jacobson Enters Top 10

GPIThe biggest news of this week’s GPI ranking is the entry of Martin Jacobson in top 10 positions. He climbed 4 steps and currently holds #9th rank after his remarkable 2014 WSOP victory on Tuesday. On the other hand, Dan Smith is sitting pretty at his 1st rank for the 12th straight week. It was August 20’2014 when someone other than Dan Smith acquired this position of GPI World Poker Rankings. Apart from this, the other top 5 spots as well remain intact at their positions, while Byron Kaverman moves closer to his career best GPI ranking #3 by climbing 2 steps up and holding #6th position now.

On every Thursday, GPI (Global Poker Index) releases a list of top 300 Poker tournament players. To dwell this list of top Poker performers of the World, GPI maintains a Poker Index point system and uses special formula. Through this leaderboard, GPI as well announces Player of the year.

With Kaverman, Amichai Barer is another player who entered in top 10 list of GPI ranking by acquiring 10th position. It was productive Macau trip that made him acquire this position of #10. However, the players who have seen downward trend in their GPI rankings by dropping one position are Ole Schemion (GPI#7, -1) and Daniel Nagreanu (GPI#8, -1) who are at 6th and 7th ranks respectively.

After winning the High Roller Event at Asian Championship of Poker in Macau, Fabian Quoss (GPI#120, +171) becomes the biggest mover of GPI. Other upward movers of this week are PokerStars Team Online Pro Issac Haxton (GPI#185, +92), WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event winner Scott Davies (GPI#133 CB, +21), and Former November Niner Joseph Cheong.

The player who is dangerously close to dropping out from GPI300 for the first time in his Poker career is Igor Kurganov (GPI#294, -85). John Juanda (GPI#282, -46) is another one who may get out of the GPI300 Rankings, if his trend of losing continues.
