GPI Rankings: Buddiga and Stephen Chidwick makes a notable move to Top 10

Davidi Kitai (GPI#3 CB, +1) who finished atGPI ranking 10th place at European Poker Tour, Prague made a strong move in this week’s GPI rankings. Kitai not only moves to a career-best #3 in the GPI World Poker Rankings, he has also made his way to #1 in the GPI European Player of the Year race and #2 in the GPI Global Player of the Year race. The reign of Kitai in Europe will be temporary as competitor Ole Schemion (GPI#2, =) has final tabled the High Roller event at EPT Prague to reclaim the European PoY lead from the Belgian superstar.

While Dan Smith continues to stand atop the GPI300, former National Spelling Bee winner Pratyush Buddiga (GPI#8 CB, +35) made a notable move into the GPI World Top 10 Rankings for the first time in his poker career. The credit goes to his recent success in the 25K High Roller event at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. With a 3rd place win at EPT Prague Super High Roller – Eight-Handed, Stephen Chidwick (GPI#10) got a entry to GPI Top 10. He still continues to stay at the top of United Kingdom Global Poker Index standings with a score of 3201.77.

On every Thursday, GPI (Global Poker Index) releases a list of top 300 Poker tournament players. To dwell this list of top Poker performers of the World, GPI maintains a Poker Index point system and uses special formula. Through this leader-board, GPI as well announces Player of the Year.

Columbian player Mayu Roca Uribe fall under Top 100 (GPI#82, +116) with 2389.06 points. He recently cashed $6,941 at Pot Limit Omaha – Turbo – Eight-Handed at EPT Prague where he finished at 9th place. The youngest winner of a WPT event Nick Schulman (GPI#201, -142) slipped out of GPI Top 200. Though two-time bracelet winner recorded 6 cashes during first half of 2014, but his flat score in $ 5,300 No Limit Hold’em SHRPO Main Event (#Event 16) at 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Hollywood didn’t paid off well. He is currently positioned at 219, just 10 points less than his previous year ranking of 229 at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event.
