Remember the venue of 10th season of the European Poker Tour (EPT)- Casino de Barcelona. This ‘difficult to pronounce’ South African city is one of the richest poker destinations of the world. Thought the city is very small, but Vanderbijlpark is the largest poker destination in Africa and well-known for world-famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Since 2010, the Emerald Casino and Resort, Vanderbijlpark has been hosting World Series of Poker, Africa. The popularity of poker rose in South Africa when Raymond Rahme finished 3rd in the 2007 WSOP Main Event. He was the first African to reach the final table of WSOP Main Event. Home to a wide diversity of wildlife and scenery, Vanderbijlpark has been the best off-season destination for poker players to play a few hands and seek grand luxury.
The Bahamas
The Bahamas – a divine abode with sand, sun, clear water and tropical year-round weather! This heavenly place on earth has everything with jazzed up poker action going on across the year. Even Pokerstars host their premier yearly tournament PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) at Atlantis Paradise Island, The Bahamas. In 2014, Dimitar Danchev won the Main Event of the 10th PokerStars Carribbean Adventure, while while Vanessa Selbst and Scott Siever won the High Roller events. This great exotic location do have potential to host poker tournaments, and is the most favored a favored recreation spot by poker professionals.
Puerto Princesa, Philippines, Asia
Few years back, the first poker tournament in Philippines was held in a small card-room. Then, Filipinos didn’t knew much about poker. Thanks to televised games and passionate poker pros that the game flared up and gained a momentum. Though poker is still a growing sport in the Philippines, the Metro Card Club (Ortigas) and Resorts World Manila are already established as luxurious gambling locations. Puerto Princesa, the capital city of Palawan, is rising high and joining the list as a poker destination.
