In a recent development on opening of casinos in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, Malaysia-based conglomerate Genting Group seems interested in setting up its “Cruises to Nowhere” offshore gambling vessel in the Indian waters. A Cruise to Nowhere offers trips ranging from one to three days will casinos on-board. These gaming ships are operating internationally and are huge hit in USA.
The officials of Malindo Air which has recently launched its flight from the city to Kuala Lumpur have decided to talk to the Genting Group to bring Cruises to Nowhere to Vizag.
“Vizag is such a beautiful place and our policy is to encourage people to travel due to which our fares are also economical. Vizag has great tourism potential. Back home we will see if there is any possibility to motivate Genting’s Cruise to Nowhere to come to Vizag so that locals will get a feel of casinos and other cruise life,” chief marketing officer of Malindo Air, Mr Chandran Ravi told DC.
He added that Malaysia and India had many similarities and Vizag’s tourist spots could be promoted in Malaysia, encouraging citizens to visit the port city.
“We are surprised to know that Lambasingi in Vizag records temperature as low as zero degrees during winter. Malaysians, instead of going to Europe, can come to Vizag and visit Lambasingi for the same feel,” added Mr Ravi.
