Asia Championship of Poker Platinum Series which is known for its HK $5,500 main event wherein the Top 10 finishers get a chance to vie for the HK $100,000 ACOP Main Event seat in ACOP Platinum Series Playoffs played online at PokerStars returned this month at the City of Dreams Macau.
The 8th edition of ACOP Platinum Series kicked off on 21st April at the City of Dreams Macau. The tournament featured the HK $5,500 Main Event that came with HK $500,000 Guarantee. The ACOP Platinum Series VIII stretched for six days including a 6 Official Asia Players of the Year events, and an exciting addition of the HK $10,000 NLH tournament on 25th April.
The Opening Event of the series – HK $2,000 Deepstack No Limit Holdem saw total prize money of HK $200,000, and was won by Hongkong’s Justin Chan.
The HK $5,500 Main Event saw a participation of 233 runners, of which 27 players shared in the prize money of HK $1 million prize pool, and the top prize was over HK $250,000. The final table started with 10 players with Chinese player Bote Lin as chip lead. The other players were Keng Long Cheong (Macau), Chi Hang Lao (Macau), Yen Han Chen (Chinese Taipei), Kai Liu (China), Park Yu Cheung (Hong Kong), Lok Seng Kat (Macau), Beng Chuan Foo (Malaysia), Yang Zhang (China), and Vishnu Jairath (UK). After hours of play, it was Macau local Sam Cheong who won the Main Event.
