The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) has completed another 5 days with some of the amazing records in prize money and cash finishes. After the SCOOP 1/3 May 10-14 which we reported on May 15, 41 events across all 3 categories (Low, Medium, and High) have found their champions on PokerStars. Although, Indian players are yet to clinch a title, they have fetched some fantastic individual scores including 2 runner-up finishes in these 5 days (May 15-19). Indian players scooped a total prize money of $52,934.99 in 76 cash finishes across these 5 days.
Amit Varma aka bombay-lad finished as the runner-up in the 21-L: $7.50 PL 5-Card Omaha [6-Max,1R1A], $25K Gtd bagging $ 6,428.46. Amit ‘bblacklegend’ Jain pocketed $425.08 in the 18-M: $215 NL Hold’em [6-Max, Shootout], $150K Gtd finishing 105th. On May 16, Rahil Bhatia added $901.93 to his online earnings in the 20-M: $215 NL Hold’em [4-Max], $200K Gtd finishing 93rd.
Rahul Shetty who plays under the screen name of r shetty clinched the biggest cash prize for Team India this season. In the 23-L: $27 NL Hold’em $250K Gtd, he played an amazing game to reach the heads-up where he finished 2nd bagging $35,286.94. 3 Indian players – rbhatia3, danish7 and antilog cashed over $300 in the 23-M: $215 NL Hold’em [Sunday Warm-Up SE], $600K Gtd on May 17. Danish Shaikh added another $824.61 on the same finishing 178th in the 24-M: $215 NL Hold’em [Sunday Million SE], $1M Gtd.
After high-time in Texas Holdem tourneys, it was time for some Omaha action on May 17. Two more notable cash finishes came for Indians in the 25-L: $27 PL Omaha [6-Max, Turbo, Zoom], $50K Gtd. aniceboy won $1,140.42 in the 9th place and ramshok29 bagged $881.23 finishing 10th. On May 18, bombay-lad brought the maiden notable cash for India in the 26-M: $109 NL Hold’em [3-stack], $75K Gtd. He finished 31st in the tournament pocketing $805.69. May 19 saw thebrowngoat pocketing $401.28 in the 29-M: $215 PL Omaha, $175K Gtd.
Globally, the Team PokerStars pro Jason Mercier continued his good run winning his 3rd SCOOP title this season. Jason won the 20-H: $2,100 NL Hold’em [4-Max], $400K Gtd bagging $178,457.73. After 10 days of SCOOP, a.S.e High tops the list of money by winning $396,275.50 so far this season. Canada leads the 2015 SCOOP in terms of both the number of bracelets and the money list. The Canadian players have won 13 events so far and $4,517,907.45 in prize money.
