For the first time in its history of 8 years, the World Series of Poker Europe has announced to add Germany in its tournament roster this year. The much awaited Germany edition of WSOP Europe will be played in the Spielbank Berlin (Casino) from 8th to 24th October 2015.
The tournament brings 10 WSOP gold bracelets up for grab plus a long list of side events including cash games, satellites and other daily tournaments. The new host country and venue is expected to heighten the excitement attracting a huge participation.
“Germany is truly a hotbed for poker talent,” said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. “As home country to our reigning Player of the Year and 2011 World Champion, we look forward to discovering new names ready to perform on poker’s biggest stage. Berlin became a logical choice city for WSOP Europe given its proximity to all of Europe, the experienced management team at Spielbank, and the gap of time since a major poker tournament has come to the city. We believe this truly will be the best organized and contested WSOP Europe ever.”
In addition to the new venue, WSOP Europe has added several new bracelet events which includes “Oktoberfest” the WSOP’s first €550 buy-in NLH event in Europe (beginning October 9) and the least expensive Pot-Limit Omaha in WSOP history, a €550 buy-in tournament starting on October 15.
The 7-day long €10,450 Main Event will start on 18th October and the €25,600 High Roller will be the last event of the series starting 21st October. Both of these highlighting events will be broadcasted live on Television.
“We look forward to this new edition of the WSOP Europe for the first time in Germany and specifically our property in central Berlin at the Spielbank Berlin (Casino),” said Marcel Langner, Spielbank Berlin Director of Operations. ”It`s a great honor to host this event. We are sure all visitors will have a great time in Berlin. We will offer cash game and tournament play, as well as the Oktoberfest special to welcome our guests from all over the world. Welcome to Spielbank Berlin.”
