Many of us like to play online poker on weekends but refrain to play the deep tourneys due to long hours of play. Everybody does not have the time and patience to play into the wee hours and complete a tourney. Eying all such issues, PokerStars announced a 2-day MTT starting this Saturday, Aug 15 which will be paused on Day 1 after certain levels of play and will resume on Sunday with the remaining field.
“The Weekender” is a $530 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee prize pool tournament which will be played for 6 hours (25 levels) on Saturday and the 2nd half of the tourney will be played on Sunday. The debut event of “The Weekender” is set to begin on Saturday, August 15 at 16:30 CET.
Day 1 of this 8-max tourney will start with a stack of 10,000 and blinds set at 20/40. The blind levels will be of 12 minutes each for the first 10 levels after which it goes up to 15 minutes for further 15 levels on Day 1. Day 2 of the tournament will be played slowly with blind levels of 20 minutes each.
“The Weekender” will be beneficial for players who want to play more and deep structured tourneys as it cuts down the fatigue level which players attain in a long-running tourneys. PokerStars may launch many such events with a variety of buy-in and guaranteed prize pools after capturing the response to “The Weekender”.
