The European leg of World Series of Poker kicked off last week at Spielbank Berlin Casino in Berlin for a 17-days schedule bringing 10 gold bracelets up for grab and a plethora of side events. 3 events have been played over the last 4 days wherein the opening event crowned Makarios Avramidis of Greece the winner and other two events are in progress. Event 2: The Oktoberfest No-Limit Hold’em has reached its final table led by John Gale. In the same event, Arsh Grover made a deep run in the field of 2,144 players and finished 24th for €6,455 in prize money.
The new addition to WSOP Europe roster of bracelet events, €550 The Oktoberfest started with 4 flight days which saw 173 players qualifying for the Day 2 action. All 173 survivors were announced to in the money with a min-cash of €1,210 and €157,749 reserved for the champion. At the end of Day 2, the British player John Gale who has 2 bracelets and 12 WSOP cashes in his kitty topped the final table formed with 2,892,000 chips. Rodrigo Caprioli (2,394,000) and Steve O’Dwyer (2,231,000) are the other players with 7-figure stack. Arsh Grover, the youngest poker sensation of India put up a brilliant show with his stack of just 39.5k on Day 2. Arsh went on stacking up and progressing deep in the game but his good run came to an end in 24th place. In his first international money-finish, he bagged €6,455.

In the 3rd event of WSOP Europe: Eight-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha, 161 players entered with a buy-in of €3,250 and 31 players are left in contention of the €126,345 top prize at the end of Day 2. Roberto Romanello (211,500) leads the remaining field which has notables players as in Max Pescatori (158,900), Mike Leah (146,400), the double bracelet winner Jesper Hougaard (125,000) and Jonathan Duhamel (94,900). Phil Hellmuth who is in the hunt of his 15th WSOP bracelet, got eliminated from this event in 40th place.
