The GPI Rankings released for the Week 45 of 2015 saw Byron Kaverman in the pole position with 4,379.14 points. He is 115 points ahead of the former #1 Jason Mercier who sits in 2nd place with 4,264.20 points.
Kaverman accumulated crucial points over the past week by winning the €10,000 High Roller event at European Poker Tour, Malta. He gained more GPI points against his 9th place finish in the €10,000 8-Handed High Roller event and 5th place in the €25,000 8-Handed High Roller tourney.
Davidi Kitai and Nicholas Petrangelo are the players who scaled up by 1 place in the GPI Top 10 this week. Scott Seiver dropped down by 3 place while Stephen Chidwick who was in the 10th place last week slipped out of the Top 10 in the current rankings.
Roberto Romanello took the biggest one-week leap in the Global Poker Index, rising from 273rd to 176th while Tom Hall was the most unfortunate falling from 124th to 239th. Johnny Lodden, Tristan Wade, Brian Roberts, Rainer Kempe, Seth Berger, Diogo Cardoso, Alexander Kuzmin, Jens Lakemeier, and Oliver Weis are the new entrants into GPI 300 this week.
On the GPI Asia Rankings, Nipun Java on India tops the Top 100 chart with 2,103.72 points. Joanne “JJ” Liu of Taiwan sits in the 2nd place with 1,702.82 points.
