Hot on the heels of the Monster® WPT® Tournament of Champions, World Poker Tour® today announced the full WPT Main Tour schedule for Season XV. In addition to the return of the highly successful WPT Tournament of Champions, World Poker Tour is introducing the partypoker WPT Passport, partypoker WPT Caribbean in Punta Cana, and the WPT Festival Championship.
With their victories at Playground Poker Club and Holland Casino respectively, Seth Davies and Andjelko Andrejevic earned their seats into the second-annual WPT Tournament of Champions at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on April 7, 2017. The WPT Tournament of Champions will once again follow the $3,500 buy-in WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and the $10,000 buy-in WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale, both of which will reward seats for the WPT TOC.
World Poker Tour and partypoker have joined forces to launch the WPT Passport in Season XV, allowing online qualifiers to choose which partypoker-sponsored event they will attend upon winning their $5,000 package. WPT Passport super satellites run daily and feed into a $530 buy-in WPT Passport satellite, where at least one $5,000 package is guaranteed. Each WPT Passport winner has 12 months to decide which WPT Main Event they wish to play in and can use their package in the highlighted events below.
The partypoker WPT Caribbean festival returns in Season XV, kicking off on November 19 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. During this luxurious getaway, players will be able to enjoy the pristine Dominican beaches and extravagant pools at Hard Rock before taking to the felt to compete in a host of satellites, tournaments, and cash games. World Poker Tour is also introducing the WPT Festival Championship in Season XV, whereby at each Main Tour stop, one seat will be awarded to the Main Event at that stop through a tournament consisting only of winners from preliminary events of the festival leading up to the Main Event. Each WPT Festival Champion will earn a bespoke trophy and access to VIP off-the-felt activities, in addition to their seat in the WPT Main Tour event at that property.
To further reward players on the World Poker Tour, the California Swing returns in Season XV with additional benefits. Every player who attended all three California Swing tournaments in 2016 will receive their first night free at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in 2017 – all they have to do is book two night’s stay during the Season XV WPT Rolling Thunder Main Tour event.
Live-streamed final tables on the World Poker Tour will also have a new look in Season XV, thanks to ShareHand Inc. On top of enhanced graphics packages and a brand new, custom set for non-televised WPT final tables, fans from around the globe will enjoy additional content from their favorite players during broadcasts on PlutoTV, Twitch, and YouTube.
In addition, most live-streamed final tables will also be broadcast throughout Asia with Chinese commentary, reaching millions of poker fans across the burgeoning region. Among the platforms that have already broadcast WPT content in Season XV are: LeTV, Sohu Sports, YouKu, Douyu, HuYa, Panda TV, Wasu TV, and PPTV.
