Abhineet Jain aka pokemon13 is ready for the upcoming Deltin Poker Tournament powered by Adda52. He already has won satellites to the 30K Main Event and 60K High Roller. One of the regulars at online as well live felt, Abhineet wants to take a trophy home from DPT Aug’16.
OPN India spoke to Abhineet about his plans for DPT. Here are the excerpt from the conversation:
You have won the seats to DPT High Roller as well as Main Event. All geared up for the series? What are your plans?
Abhineet – As always I am happy to be free rolling yet another live series. I have been working a lot on MTTs for a while now and special thanks to Abhishek Goindi and Anmol Srivats for taking the time out from their busy schedules to help me improve. I will be playing most of the tournaments in the series and I am confident of a good run this time.
Did you play last DPT in Jan’16? Share your experiences.
Abhineet – The first edition of DPT was amazing in terms of guarantees and structures. It in fact hosted the biggest guarantee event in India till date and I made a deep run in the High roller event only to be busted on Day 2. I have played quite a few live series in India now and being in Deltin Royale is always a memorable experience.
What do you like most about the Deltin Poker Tournament?
Abhineet – The best thing about DPT which separates it from all other series are the guarantees. DPT saw a huge turnout last time and I am hoping the same this time too. This is probably the most important parameter for a poker player for deciding to travel for a live series.
You started taking poker coaching recently. How is it going? Who all from your coached players are interested to come to Goa for DPT?
Abhineet – I have always believed that coaching is the best form of learning and this was the main idea behind starting a stable besides spreading awareness and knowledge about the game. We received a better than expected response with close to 50 applications and would like to thank everyone who showed interest. We started off pretty well and looking forward to include more players and coaches in our team.
Since our primary focus is on PLO right now, we are not staking our players for MTTs and live events yet but nonetheless I believe quite a few of them will be turning up for the event and I wish them good luck for the same.
What’s that one thing you would like to do at DPT Aug’16 which you haven’t done in any live tournament?
Abhineet – I would like to bring a trophy home. That’s the only thing in my mind right now and I am focusing all my energy towards it.
