The $1,650 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty event at the 2017 Aussie Millions drew a total of 357 players. Finally, it was Rodrigo Meneses who outlasted all of them to earn AUD$119,500- the first place prize. A well-known poker player from Sydney, Meneses has about USD$200,000 in live and online poker earnings and with this victory, he added AUD$119,500 more to his total earnings. A total of 32 players cashed in and notable names included the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event champ, Tyron Krost, 2016 PokerNews Cup Borgata winner, Ryan Van Sanford, Mark Vos, Jackie Glazier and Gary Benson.
The major highlight of the final table was Griffin Benger, who made his first final table appearance since the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event. He had a good stack but he couldn’t last long and finished 5th place before JohnLombardo and Colin Morris Denby who finished in 6th and 7th respectively. Grayson Ramage, who won an Aussie Millions back in 2013 ended it up finishing 4th place. After Daniel M. Murphy got eliminated, the heads-up battle began between Rodrigo Meneses and Michael Kanaan, who has the lifetime live and online tournament earnings of almost USD$3 million. Kanaan also sits 38th on the all-time money list of Australia. But this time around it was not his day, but he secured AUD$81,360 for his runner-up finish against Meneses.
Jennifer Tilly and Shane Warne Survive Aussie Millions Main Event Day 1
The first of three starting days of the 2017 Aussie Millions Poker Championship ‘main event’ is underway at Crown Melbourne. The event drew a total of 212 players, up from the 180 players in 2016. By the end of the play on Day 1, it was Sam Ingham who was the chip lead with an impressive 160,100 in chips. Among big names who survived the Day 1 included the former cricketer and country’s spin legend Shane Warne. The man who claimed over 1,000 test and one-day international wickets in his career managed to bag 37,600 in chips to survive Day 1 in the Main event of the Aussie Millions. 
Things didn’t go well for Phil Laak and Jonathan Karamalikis, both failed to survive Day 1. Sylvain Loosli, Sam Trickett, Annette Obrestad and Dan Shak and the WSOP bracelet winner and EPT champion Martin Finger were other casualties. Plenty of notable players took to tables on Day 1, with Sam Higgs among those that did very well, bagging 107,900 in chips. Other top pros who did well included Corey Kempson (91,900), Jennifer Tilly (85,000) Kahle Burns (73,600), Martin Jacobson (49,300) and Bryan Huang (43,500).
