Abraham Korotki won the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City main event in 2006. Over a decade later, he has again won the title after topping a field of 341 entries and winning the 2017 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Atlantic City main event. With this win, he has earned his 2nd gold ring along with the first place prize of $117,645.
“This was a good tournament. It was fun and a lot of nice people in it, so I enjoyed it. Players have gotten better and it is very difficult to win a tournament, let alone multiple tournaments.” said Korotki.
Korotki entered the final table as the chip lead with around 2,080,000 in chips. The only other player who held more than a million in chips was Henry Edmondson. Although Korotki held the chip lead, but he had some tough players to deal with at the final table including 8-time WSOP final tablist Shannon Shorr and the 2-time gold ring winner Alex Rocha from New York. It was Rocha who began the final table play aggressively and went on to eliminate Shannon Sherr in the 8th place for $13,851.
The heads-up showdown came between Korotki and Rocha. They began the battle relatively close in chips, but Korotki quickly chipped-up and eventually closed out the win in less than an hour. Rocha went out in 2nd place, earning $72,730 for his runner-up finish, the 4th biggest score of his career.

Andre Akkari Wins Neymar Jr’s Celebrity Poker Home Game, Raising €52,300 for Charity
The Neymar Jr Charity Home Game hosted in Spain on Thursday has ended with the WSOP bracelet winner Andre Akkari emerging the winner. He defeated a star-studded field of 15 to win the trophy and €15,000 out of the €52,300 prize pool for charity. The entire prize pool went to Neymar Jr Institute and Right To Play.
Neymar Jr. and his friends actually competed to raise money for Neymar Jr’s own charity, The Neymar Jr. Institute. Among some notables who played and contributed for the cause included the big names of the Olympic hockey gold medallist Fatima Moreira de Melo and Akkari.
“I am so happy to see that this money will go towards global sports and education charity, Right To Play, using the power of sport and play to help educate and empower those most in need to overcome the impact of poverty, conflict and disease.” Akkari stated after his victory.
Some other big personalities joining Neymar Jr. included Rafael Zulu, Brazilian actor and pro-surfer Pedro Scooby. The online qualifier Diego Garcia Bello from Galicia, Spain seemed very happy after making it to the final table in the event. He finished at 7th place winning €2,300, which he generously donated to charity. Sharing his experience of playing for children’s charity, Bello said, “Getting the opportunity to play Neymar and his friends tonight was a very good experience for me,”.
