The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is just 5 days away. The 48th annual edition of WSOP is set to run from May 30 to July 17, 2017 at Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. This year, the series will play host to 74 bracelet events with buy-ins ranging from $333 up to $111,111 for the One Drop High Roller.
This time around, the WSOP features some exciting changes in WSOP, including the recently announced decision to end the November Nine era and crown the ultimate winner during the summer itself. Following the same, this year’s WSOP main event champion will be decided on July 22.
The start time for the most of WSOP events remains 11 a.m. and 3 p.m, but for the huge field No Limit Hold’em events that are slated take place on weekends, the start time will be 10 a.m. and 4pm To make it more exciting for players, the WSOP features 8 brand new events this year, including:
1.A $10,000 tag team no-limit hold’em event (May 31)
- A $333 WSOP.com online no-limit hold’em event with $333,333 guaranteed prize pool. (June 3)
- “The Giant,” a $365 no-limit hold’em unlimited re-entry event. (June. 9,16,23,30, July. 7,8)
- “The Marathon,” a $2,620 no-limit hold’em event (June12)
- A $1,000 super turbo bounty no-limit hold’em event, featuring $300 bounties (June. 20)
- A $10,000 pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better championship that begins at 3 p.m. ( June26)
- A $2,500 mixed big-bet event. The tournament will kick off at 3 p.m. (June. 30)
- A $3,333 WSOP.com online high roller with unlimited re-entry (July 1)
The WSOP 2017 becomes more special this time, as an impressive Indian contingent is heading to the mecca of poker- Vegas. Several welcome changes have been made to the schedule, events, timing and payouts making it more exciting than ever. Akash is doing the WSOP for a 5th consecutive time and feeling excited about the big event. Almost a regular at WSOP, he had several deep runs in last year’s WSOP. He also shipped and chopped a few tourneys at the Venetian in 2013. He holds an impressive resume with $200,339 in total live earnings. His best live cash $55,451 came in 2014 when he finished 5th at Macau Poker Cup in the HK$ 10,000 + 1,000 No Limit Hold’em – Red Dragon. The Delhi-based Sumit Sapra, who will be doing the WSOP for 2nd time, looks pretty confident. Very recently, he won his first WPT title after taking down the $550 PLO Deepstack for $5,530 (INR 3.76 lacs). He had a good run at the last WSOP and came 93rd at $ 1,500 No Limit Hold’em event. He is planning to play several events at WSOP 2017, some of which include the following tournaments:

He have been to Vegas thrice. He had several deeps runs at last year’s WSOP, including a deep run in Main Event.
