The world’s biggest and richest tournament series WSOP has crowned one more champion Ron Ware from the USA. He won Event #21: $1,500 8-Game Mix 6-Handed event to claim first his bracelet and top prize of $145,577 for his remarkable performance. He beat a 472-strong field to win the title.
“I like the mixed games because usually, you can catch a couple of the games people are weak at. I like the mixed the best because it gives everybody a shot to be bad at something,” said the champion.
Ware started the final day second in chips but he became chip lead in the fourth level of the day with players already seated on the feature table. Ware won a huge three-way pot to stack up and take the control of the final table, extending his chip lead to sit comfortably and confidently in his chair. He had bagged half of all chips in play with five players left. The first elimination came in the form of Ryan Himes who finished in 6th place for $19,077. Ware continued to dominate the final table and Chris Vitch became his next victim. Vitch lost his chips to Ware in a hand, shoving from the small blind with queen-ten only to run into Ware’s pocket jacks. Vitch collected $27,142 for his super efforts.
Up next, Ware continued on his elimination spree and knocked out Sachin Bhargava soon after dinner break in a razz hand. Sachin got eliminated in 4th place for $39,545. A few hands later, Fabrice Soulier and Mike Ros battled it out twice. While Soulier doubled up first, the second time belonged to Ross who knocked out the French bracelet winner in the third place, leaving him with a $58,968 prize.
After Soulier went out in 3rd place, Ware entered heads-up against Soulier about a five-to-two lead. Ross, however, gave a tough obstacle. He managed to narrow the gap and even gained a little bit lead at one point, but finally Ware won the battle.
On the final hand of the tournament, Mike Ross checked his big blind after Ron Ware limped in, and he then check-called a bet on 6h-8d-4d. Both checked the Qh, and the river was a 9d. Ross checked and Ware bet. Ross tank-called. Ross tabled Ad-6s. Ware turned over 9s-6d for two pair.

India’s Sumit Sapra Enters Day 3 in Event 20: $1,500 Millionaire Maker
Meanwhile, India’s Sumit Sapra has entered Day 3 in Event 20: $1,500 Millionaire Maker. He is the only player from India to make it to Day 3 along with 136 remaining players and will begin Day 3 with a respectable stack of 210,000. Among those making it to Day 3, Senovio Ramirez III is the clear chip leader with a whopping 1,570,000 chips. The second spot belongs to Lucas Blanco (1,339,000), with Daniel Lee rounding out the top three stacks with 1,196,000 chips. Among the remaining players, nine of them have stacks over a million. This event attracted a total of 7,761 runners and as per the announcement made by the tournament director the top 1,165 players will be making in the money.
Again a great news for Indian poker fans, as India’s Raghav Bansal, Team PokerStars pro Aditya Agarwal and Team PokerMet pro Shuchi Chamaria cashed out in this event. Bansal finished 377th for $4,638, Agarwal finished 653rd for $3,105 while his better half managed to make her first WSOP cash finishing 661st for $3,105. Some other notables who made deep runs in this tournament included Humberto Brenes (180th place -$6,948), Nacho Barbero (209th place – $6,948), David Peters (212th place – $6,943), Upeshka De Silva (224th place – $6,943), David Pham (225th place – $6,943), Garrett Greer (336th place – $5,298), Maria Ho (397th place – $4,683), and Antonio Esfandiari (736th place – $2,861).
