World’s biggest tournament WSOP Main Event is currently underway after registering record 7,221 entries across three starting flights, making it the third largest event in WSOP history. The series has witnessed massive action with some record-breaking turnouts across various tournaments this season. It has already registered 116,604 entries and awarded over $227,058,974 in the prize money to the winners and in the money players.Day 2C Highlights
Today saw the culmination of Day 2C with plenty of big names and unknown players advancing into Day 3. A field of 3,300 players returned Wednesday to continue on their path to Main Event glory and at the day end plenty of them survived and moved into Day 3. Leading at the end of Day 2C was the British player Artan Dedusha with a huge 680,000 in chips. Following him are two Americans Marcin Chmielewski and Michael Krasienko on 2nd and 3rd spots with 564,000 and 561,300 in chips.
Among other big stacks moving into Day 3 of the WSOP Main Event include Michael Krasienko (561,300), Sonny Franco (546,700), the Player of the Year contender and two-time bracelet winner Ryan Hughes (510,100), Nick Petrangelo (480,300 ) and Natasha Mercier (476,800) to name a few.
Team India
At the end of Day 2C, Team India saw 2 challengers making it to Day 3 , namely Aditya Agarwal holding 129,000 in chips and Jagdeep Singh having 117,000 chips. The PokerStars Team Pro Aditya Agarwal from Calcutta in India has an impressive live resume with a total of 36 WSOP cashes and $484,095 in total earnings. India’s poker community expects a lot from him when he returns for the play on Day 3 on Thursday at 11 AM local time,Las Vegas.
Day 2 AB Highlights
Today also saw the culmination of Day 2AB of the Main Event where 2,219 survivors from Day 1A and Day 1B joined in the action. Several Indian players were seen in action with Rahul Byrraju clearly emerging the star performer, as he took his 186,100 stack to a huge 467,900 into Day 3. Among other players who impressed and moved into Day 3 included Rohan Dhawan (229,500), Akshit Madan (185,500), Adda52 Team Pro Nikita Luther (150,500) and Satchit Kapur (68,000).
Many Indian players managed to chip up on Day 2 AB including Dhawan who bagged 229,500, a great improvement over the 73,500 he started off with. Another player who consolidated with 185,500 in chips was Akshit Madan who came on Day 2AB with his 47,400 stack only. It was a great day for Adda52 Team Pro Nikita Luther who managed to bag an impressive 150,500 in chips, all from a modest 30,000 chips stack she began her day with.
At Day 2AB end, it was Lawrence Bayley and Mickey Craft who bagged over 600K to lead into Day 3 of the WSOP Main event. Following them on 3rd place was UK player Richard Gryko with 564,800 chips.
Watch out for in-form players like Aditya Agarwal, the top perfomer Rahul Byrraju, Rohan Dhawan, Akshit Madan and Adda52 Team Pro Nikita Luther when they return for Day 3 on Thursday at 11 AM local time. All these players have been enjoying impressive runs and we could hope for yet another bracelet for India.
