The Day 2 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event saw 266 survivors returning to the field and after 10 levels of the play, the field has been whittled down to the final 30 contenders for the title.
At the end of Day 2 play, Aaron Mermelstein emerged as the overnight chip leader with 2,706,000 in chips and will be returning tomorrow to battle it out for the $750,000 in top prize money.The payouts for the event have been announced. The top 111 players from the event will share a piece of the $4.3 Million prize pool.
Team India’s Aditya Agarwal and Nipun Java were seen in action on Day 2 but unfortunately none of them could survive through. While PokerStars Team Pro Agarwal failed to make it to the list of ITM players, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner Java went deep but unfortunately got eliminated in 34th place, taking home $19,531 for his efforts.
Soon before being busted, Java took a huge chunk of Gaspard’s stack. However, the story changed in a hand later where he moved all-in with his Qs-Jc and Daniel Blum holding As-Jd shoved over the top. The board opened Ah-7h-4s-6h-Ac. Java went out in 34th place after a good show in the event.
Some big names still remaining in contention for the coveted Main Event title include David Diaz, Shannon Shorr, Nicholas Palma,Odie Dardon, Scott Clements and Joel Harwood to name a few.
